EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Indianapolis this Saturday where they will face IUPUI in a dual meet. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
Last Friday against Missouri State, the UE women’s swimming and diving team took first-place in seven events including the 400-yard freestyle relay. Freshman
Abby Smith continued her impressive season winning the top spot in both the women’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.45 and the 50-yard freestyle with a 24.19.
Michelle Tipton placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.40. #
Mackenzie Powell# also took a first-place spot in the 200-yard
individual medley with a final time of 2:09.85. Diver
Sadie Wells took first place in both the women’s 1-meter and 3-meter diving with a combined score of 525.91.
The UE men’s swimming and diving team took second-place in the men’s 400-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 3:10.26.
Cameron Wickes took a second-place spot in both the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.84 and the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:47.29.
Ashton Bishop placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.67 as well as the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.75.
After they face off with IUPUI, the Aces will return to the pool when they compete in House of Champions starting November 30 in Indianapolis.
