UE is back in action this weekend

Swimming and Diving Teams Travel to IUPUI

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  The University of Evansville’s swimming and diving teams will travel to Indianapolis this Saturday where they will face IUPUI in a dual meet. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
 
Last Friday against Missouri State, the UE women’s swimming and diving team took first-place in seven events including the 400-yard freestyle relay. Freshman Abby Smith continued her impressive season winning the top spot in both the women’s 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.45 and the 50-yard freestyle with a 24.19. Michelle Tipton placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.40.  #Mackenzie Powell# also took a first-place spot in the 200-yard individual medley with a final time of 2:09.85. Diver Sadie Wells took first place in both the women’s 1-meter and 3-meter diving with a combined score of 525.91.
 
The UE men’s swimming and diving team took second-place in the men’s 400-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 3:10.26. Cameron Wickes took a second-place spot in both the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.84 and the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:47.29. Ashton Bishop placed second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.67 as well as the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.75.

After they face off with IUPUI, the Aces will return to the pool when they compete in House of Champions starting November 30 in Indianapolis.
