Women’s Tennis Improves To 2-0 With 6-1 Win Over Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. –
The University of Evansville women’s tennis team improved to 2-0 with an impressive 6-1 road win at Lipscomb on Friday night.
 
Evansville picked up wins in two of its three doubles matches while grabbing five of six wins in singles play.
 
Dora Kotsiou and Natasha James remained perfect with an 8-3 victory over Alyssa Bellini and Deahna Welcher while the No. 3 doubles team of Jessica Raatz and Aleks Dzakula topped the duo of Samantha Bowman and Danielle Hansen by an identical 8-3 tally.  Gaby Fifer and Emily Richardson fell to the No. 2 doubles team of Jenny Borck and Danielle Hansen, 9-7.
 
In singles play, Kotsiou picked up a win over Bellini (6-2, 6-2), Dzakula defeated Welcher (2-6, 6-3, 6-1), James topped Keevil (6-1, 6-0), Fifer won over Bowman; 6-0, 6-2 while freshman Mina Milovic picked up a win over Hanson (6-0, 6-0).
 
The Aces will be right back in action on Saturday evening at the Tri-State Athletic Club, playing host to UT-Martin.  Doubles play will begin at 7:30 p.m. with singles to follow.  Admission to all home matches for UE is free.
