Game 1: UE 5, Bradley 1
Bradley was the first to score in game one, as Julie Sherman led off the bottom of the first with a bunt single before scoring on a double down the left field line to give the Braves a 1-0 lead.

But Evansville quickly answered in the top of the second as Gaertner started a one-out rally with a single up the middle. Junior Halie Malone followed the hit with a walk to put runners at first and second. Senior Allison Aguilera then delivered a double to score both Gaertner and Malone as UE took the 2-1 lead. Aguilera, who had advanced to third on the throw to the plate, was then hit in on a sacrifice fly by junior Alicia Betancur, giving the Aces the 3-1 advantage going into the bottom of the second.

After holding the Braves scoreless through the next four frames, the Aces extended their lead in the top of the sixth, putting up two more runs off three hits. Junior Tamara Robey started the inning with a double to left field before freshman Victoria Dellorto followed with a bunt single to move Robey to third. After Dellorto advanced to second on a stolen base, Fortner followed with a single to right field to bring home both runners.

Sarah Patterson improved to 6-8 in the circle, scattering just two hits and fanning six batters in the complete-game win.

Game 2: UE 0, Bradley 6
Two UE fielding errors in the bottom of the first inning helped Bradley take an early 2-0 lead in game two. Sherman reached base and advanced to second on an infield throwing error to start the inning. Another error in the very next play allowed Sherman to score as Jackie Roth moved to second on the play. Roth advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt before being brought home on a single by Madeline Lynch-Crumrine as the Braves ended the first inning leading 2-0.

Bradley scored again in the bottom of the fourth as Lynch-Crumrine, who had led off the inning with a double, scored on a triple off the bat of Shannon King. Another run would cross the plate before the inning ended, as Brittany Burgess scored on a third infield error by UE.
Bradley’s Baliegh Basham added a two-run home run to the board in the bottom of the sixth, as the Braves held the Aces scoreless to secure the 6-0 shutout.
