EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The home schedule for the University of Evansville women’s tennis team will be wrapped up this weekend as the Purple Aces will play host to Northern Iowa and Drake over the next two days at Harrison High School.

Harrison is located just off of the Lloyd Expressway at 211 Fielding Road.  The courts are located behind the school just south of the Lloyd.

Saturday’s match against Northern Iowa is set to begin at 1 p.m.  Fans are encouraged to arrive early as Senior Day festivities will take place at approximately 12:40 p.m.  Evansville’s three seniors; Aleks Dzakula, Dora Kotsiou and Jessica Raatz will honored at that time.  The Aces will square off against Drake on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Evansville enters the weekend at 10-6 while posting a 1-2 league mark.  The Aces split a pair of road matches last weekend, taking down Creighton by 5-2 final before falling by a 6-1 tally at Wichita State on Saturday.  Raatz was one of the top performers for UE in its win over the Bluejays, picking up victories in both doubles and singles.

It was a strong week in doubles for the Aces as Kotsiou and Natasha James and the senior pairing of Raatz and Dzakula were victorious in both matches a week ago.

Northern Iowa comes to town with a record of 11-7, but have dropped off slightly as of late, falling in three of their last four matches.  Their victory over that stretch came last Saturday in the form of a 6-1 victory over Bradley.

Drake is a perfect 3-0 in the MVC and has been just as successful all season, registering a 19-4 record.  The Bulldogs have won their last five overall, including victories over Illinois State and Bradley last week.

The Aces fell to both squads in last year’s meetings, losing to UNI by a 6-1 final before falling at Drake, 5-2.

Next week, the Aces will take to the road for their final three matches of the season.  On Wednesday, UE will make the quick trip across town to face Southern Indiana at 3 p.m. before traveling to Bradley for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday.  The regular season finale will take place on Sunday at Illinois State with the match set for a 10 a.m. start.
