Box Score
OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Evansville softball team dropped a 7-0 decision in today’s series finale against the Creighton Blue Jays.
Five hits, three walks and an Evansville error led to a seven-run bottom of the first for the Blue Jays. The 7-0 lead would prove to be all that Creighton would need to secure the win, as Creighton starter Becca Changstrom kept the Aces at bay with a one-hit shutout performance in the circle.
Junior
Tamara Robey broke up Changstrom’s no-hitter with a soft infield single in the top of the sixth, recording UE’s only hit of the ball game.
Junior
Kendall Kautz (1-6) took the loss in the circle, giving up all seven runs, four of which were earned, off five hits in the first inning. Sophomore
Emily Morris tossed the final six innings of the game, scattering five hits and striking out one batter as she held the Blue Jays scoreless in the relief effort.
The Aces will return home for a single game against Southern Illinois on Tuesday to complete the three-game series against the Salukis.
