TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – #Josh Genet
and Kelby Jenkins# led their respective squads as the University of Evansville cross country teams competed in Friday’s Indiana Intercollegiate in Terre Haute.
Jenkins, who won her first two races entering Friday’s meet, was UE’s top finisher, placing ninth with an 18:23.90. Elizabeth Kingshott was 28
th with a 19:02.60 and was followed by
Lauren Zeabart’s time of 19:19.00, good for 41
st.
The women came in seventh place overall as Indiana University took top honors. The Hoosiers swept the top two spots as Kelsey Duerksen won with a 17:51.20 ahead of Caitlin Engel.
On the men’s side, it was Genet who led the Aces with an 18
th-place run with a 25:28.80.
Cody Stein came in just five seconds behind Genet in 20
th spot.
Andrew Barrett was the third Evansville runner to cross the line, coming in 71
st with a 26:56.00.
Indiana took top team honors, finishing with 49 points. They topped Butler, who tallied 70 and Indiana State, who notched a 79. The Sycamores had the top two finishers as John Mascari (24:42.40) and Al Escalera (24:54.00) finished No. 1 and 2.
Next up for the Aces will be the Greater Louisville Classic, which is slated to take place at 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 29.
