Aces' Soccer Staff Plays Big Role at NSCAA Convention

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men’s soccer coaching staff will play a big role in this year’s National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) which takes place in Indianapolis and runs from Tuesday, Jan. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 20.
 
Purple Aces’ head coach Mike Jacobs, who serves as the vice president of events for the NSCAA and will become the association’s president in 2015, will be participating in two separate sessions on Saturday, Jan. 19, entitled “Building a Recruiting Network” and “The Role of Performance Analysis in Developing the College Game and Athlete”.
 
In addition to Jacobs, UE associate head coach Marshall Ray is also an active member of the NSCAA and serves as the Midwest Region Chair for the All-America Committee, while former Evansville coach Bill Vieth will be honored at the High School & Youth Coaches Awards Breakfast with a certificate of appreciation for his efforts to grow the game at the high school, youth and collegiate levels.
 
The NSCAA is the largest coaches’ organization of any kind in the world with over 30,000 members and its annual convention has had as many as 10,000 attendees in the past.  Speakers at this year’s convention include TomSermanni, the new United States women’s national team coach; Dick Bate of the English Football Association; Brian Marwood, managing director of Manchester City’s youth academy; Anson Dorrance, women’s head coach at North Carolina; and Ian Barker, NSCAA director of coaching.
