EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Evansville’s swimming and diving teams split in a dual meet this afternoon against Saint Louis University at Wyttenbach Pool in Carson Center. The UE women’s team defeated the Billikens 138-103, while the men’s team fell 148-83.
The Aces took first place in eleven different events. Teammates
Taylor Shotwell,
Jill Enge,
Melissa Ball, and
Abby Smith took the top spot in the women’s 200-yard medley relay with a final time of 1:49.09. Smith also grabbed a pair of first place wins in both the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.52, as well as the 100-yard freestyle with a final time of 53.94.
Michelle Tipton placed first in both the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:32.76, as well as the 500-yard freestyle clocking in at 5:02.56. Tipton also contributed to a win in the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 1:38.94 along with teammates
Mackenzie Harris,
Samantha Montgomery, and
Michea Reinitz.
In the last home meet of her career, diver
Sadie Wells swept the boards in both the 3-meter and 1-meter diving with a combined score of 554.18.
Senior
Alex Seward claimed a win the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.64. #Ethan O’Rourke# placed first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:58.66.
Ashton Bishop grabbed a win in the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 47.38.
The Aces will return to the pool on February 2, when they travel to take on Southern Illinois in their last meet of the regular season.
