DAYTON, Ohio – Freshman
Kayla Katterhenry posted one of the lowest rounds of Tuesday's play as her efforts helped the University of Evansville women's golf team improve to finish in second place at the Dayton Fall Invitational.

Katterhenry carded a 74, the lowest round for the Purple Aces in the event, as she improved by seven strokes over her opening day tally to tie for 11
th place.Â
Cathy Doyle was the top finisher for the Aces, tallying a 78 in the final round to finish with a 155.

Dana Hayden. After carding a 78 on Monday, she improved by a shot on Tuesday to tally a 77 en route to a 155. One shot behind was
Paige Crafton as her total of the event (156) tied her for 15
th place.

The second freshman on the squad,
Maggie Camp, improved by 19 spots in the final day as she improved by eight strokes, carding a 79 to finish the event with a 166. Playing as an individual was
Sydney Skiles, who tied for 72
nd with a 170.

Top team honors went to Detroit, who extended its lead to win the invitational by nine shots over the Purple Aces. They finished the event with a 610 and had three of the top eight finishers. Evansville finished the two rounds with a 619 to finish three shots ahead of third-place Dayton.

On the individual leaderboard, Rachel Thompson of Marshall finished at the top. After posting a 75 in round one, Thompson shot a 72 on Tuesday to finish with a 147. Ana Fernandez de Mes of IUPUI took second place with a 148.

Next week, the Aces wrap up the fall season with the Braun Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. Quail Crossing in Boonville will play host to the event.
