EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
After falling to Indiana, 4-2, in non-conference action Wednesday night, the University of Evansville men's soccer team will return to Missouri Valley Conference play Saturday, when the Purple Aces travel to Conway, Ark., for a 12 p.m. match with Central Arkansas.

Evansville (8-5-1, 1-2-0 MVC) will be looking to get back in the win column Saturday afternoon, as the Aces are currently on a two-game losing streak, after winning seven of their previous eight matchups.  Freshman Tyrus Sciarra scored his first career goal late in the second half in Wednesday's loss to the Hoosiers and junior Dylan Terry added his fifth goal of the year just 55 seconds later, but UE's rally came up short in the setback.

Sophomore Faik Hajderovic leads Evansville with 18 points on two goals and an NCAA-leading 14 assists, despite being held off the score sheet in three of the Aces' last four contests.  Terry ranks second on the team with 15 points on five goals and five assists, and sophomore Mark Anthony Gonzalez has scored a team-high seven goals for 14 points.  Junior goalkeeper Eric Teppen owns a 1.64 goals against average, as he has allowed 24 goals in 1315 minutes, and ranks 16th in the country with 67 saves.

UE has been one of the nation's top offensive teams this season, as it ranks in the top 12 in the country in the three major offensive categories.  Evansville has racked up 97 total points on 29 goals and 39 assists to rank sixth, 12th and second in the NCAA in each of those statistics, respectively.  The Aces have outscored their opponents, 29-26, this season, including a 15-11 margin in the second half.  UE is averaging 18 shots per outing, have put 117 of its 252 shots on goal (.464) and has earned 63 corner kicks.

Central Arkansas (4-8-1, 0-2-1 MVC) will be looking to snap a five-match winless streak, when it welcomes Evansville to Conway, as the Bears were shut out, 2-0, Wednesday at Missouri State.  Logan Miller led UCA offensively with three shots and recorded the team's lone shot on goal.  Goalkeeper Patxi Shortsleeve made three saves in the defeat, as Central Arkansas was outshot, 14-7.

Individually, a pair of Bears boast double-digit point totals this season, as Wes Carson has netted seven goals and dished out an assist for a team-high 15 points and Miller has added 13 points on four goals and a team-leading five assists.  Jaden Hot and Taylor Hart have bolstered UCA's offense with seven points and six points, respectively.  Shortsleeve and Taran Meyer have split time in goal for Central Arkansas, with Shortsleeve allowing 16 goals in 767:45 for a 1.88 goals against average, .714 save percentage and 40 saves.  Meyer has conceded 10 goals in 450 minutes for a 2.00 goals against average, .600 save percentage, 15 saves and two shutouts.

The Bears have been outscored, 26-16, this season and have allowed 16 goals after the halftime whistle.  In addition, UCA has been outshot, 184-114, and have earned 34 corner kicks to its opponents 80.

Saturday will mark the sixth meeting between Evansville and Central Arkansas, with the Aces owning a 4-0-1 advantage in the all-time series.  Last season, UE defeated the Bears, 1-0, with UCA's lone result coming in Conway in 2011, when the two sides played to a scoreless tie.
