EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville softball team announced the signing of recruit Haylee Tracy out of Buttonwillow, California. Tracy signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Thursday Nov. 14 to join Coach
Mark Redburn and the Aces in 2014-2015.
Tracy, who played for Taft Union High School, will join the Aces for the 2015 season. Her experience includes being part of the Fresno Force Gold Travel Team from 2011-2014, the Southern Cal Choppers and Bomb Squad in 2010 and the Central California Intensity in 2009.
Coach Redburn had this to say on Tracy:
"I'm really happy to have Haylee joining our program! Her experience and time with the Fresno Force out of California, has really prepared her for the competition that she will face here at our level. Although she plays mostly third base, she's athletic and has the arm to play anywhere. She also plays soccer so her quickness and speed are constantly being utilized during her "off" time from softball."
"I'm really looking forward to having her left handed bat in the line-up, that will give our offense another look. Haylee is the right fit for us for a lot of reasons, but mostly, she understands what it takes to be successful here at UE and what the priorities have to be. Haylee's smart, works hard in the classroom and on the field she understands what we are trying to do. She wants to contribute to this team and university while also preparing herself and her future with a phenomenal education. Haylee will be a vital part of our program's future."
During her high school career, Haylee was All-league and All-Area from 9
th to 11
th, most offensive player in 9
th and 10
th and won the golden glove award in 11
th grade. Her career batting average was .530 and her fielding average was .900.
