EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Aces swimming & diving teams look to take on Illinois State and Eastern Illinois this Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9 in what looks to be two competitive meets.
On Friday night, the Lady Aces swimming & diving team will take on Missouri Valley Conference rival Illinois State at 6:00 p.m. in Normal, Ill.
Evansville brings in a very competitive squad headed by two freshmen swimmers,
Danielle Freeman and Michaela Kent. Freeman ranks second in the MVC in the 50-yard free with a top time of 24.00 and third in the 100-yard free with a time of 52.76. Fellow freshman Michaela Kent ranks second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.63 and first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.71.
The Redbirds bring in top swimmers April Livingston in the 100-yard breaststroke and Lexi Nash in the 100-yard fly, both who are ranked first in their events.
On Saturday, the Aces will swim in a dual meet at Eastern Illinois at 11:30 a.m. The Panthers are a member of the Summit League for swimming and diving.
The Aces men's squad will look to continue it's recent success after beating Ball State last Saturday. The Aces bring in top swimmers
Ashton Bishop and Ethan O'Rourke, who are coming off two very strong performances. Bishop ranks sixth in the Mid-American Conference in the 50-yard free with a time of 21.17 and eighth in the 100-yard free with a time of 46.69. O'Rourke ranks 12th in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke with times of 52.97 and 1:57.01.
EIU brings in top swimmers Harris Thompson on the men's squad in the 500 and 1000-yard free, and Olga Livshits in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke for the women.
Following this weekends meets the Aces will swim again at the House of Champions meet in Indianapolis on Nov. 22-24.
