ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville freshman Sara Dickey was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the third time this season in an announcement made by the league office Monday afternoon.
 
Dickey notched her second-highest scoring output of the season Saturday in Evansville's 50-49 loss at Saint Louis, as she scored 25 points on a 9-for-25 shooting effort.  The Montezuma, Ind., native scored 13 of her points in the second half, including the final five points for the Purple Aces, in which she tied the game on a jumper with 2:49 to play.
 
On the season, Dickey leads the MVC and ranks second in the nation among freshman in scoring at 19.6 points per game, as she has scored 20 or more points in three of her last four outings. 
 
Evansville will begin a three-game home stand Monday, Jan. 30, when it hosts Toledo at 2 p.m. at the Ford Center.
