EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
The University of Evansville women's basketball team will wrap up its non-conference schedule and close the 2013 calendar year Monday afternoon at the Ford Center, when it hosts Toledo at 2 p.m.  Prior to the game, Evansville will induct former Purple Aces player and current Toledo assist coach Rebekah Legan (Parker) into the UE Athletics Hall of Fame as a member of its 2013 class.

Legan finished her playing career with 1,480 career points for Evansville, a mark that still ranks third in the UE record book, and was the only playing in school history, male or female, to post over 1,400 career points, 600 career rebounds, 400 career assists and 175 career steals.  A two-time Ida M. Stieler Award winner as UE's top female athlete, Legan was a three-time All-MVC selection and was named the MVC Defensive Player of the Year in 2007.  As a senior for the Aces, she led the team to a second-round appearance in the 2008 WNIT to earn Lowe's Senior All-America First Team honors and the Lois D. Patton Award as Evansville's top female scholar-athlete.

Evansville (4-6) will be looking to rebound from back-to-back losses and close its non-conference schedule on a high note Monday afternoon, as the Aces will be in search of five non-conference wins for the first time since the 2010-11 season.  In its latest outing, UE suffered a narrow, 50-49, setback to host Saint Louis on Dec. 21.  Freshman Sara Dickey led Evansville with 25 points in the loss, marking her second-highest scoring output of the season, and junior Khristian Hart made her return to the floor by scoring 11 points in her first action since Jan. 31 last season, when she suffered an ACL injury at Bradley.

Individually, Dickey leads the Missouri Valley Conference and ranks second in the nation among freshman in scoring (19.6 ppg).  The Montezuma, Ind., native has drained a team-high 21 shots from beyond the arc and is 10-for-26 from long distance in her last three games.  Junior Mallory Ladd ranks second on the squad in scoring (12.9 ppg), leads the Valley in rebounding (11.0 rpg) and has blocked a team-high eight shots.  Fellow junior Kat Taylor is averaging 11.1 points per contest, has registered a team-high 45 assists and is shooting a team-best 87.2 percent from the free throw line.

The Aces are averaging 69.5 points per game collectively and are shooting 34.8 percent from the floor, including a 26.5 percent clip from three-point land.  UE owns an MVC-best 74.4 percent shooting clip from the charity stripe and owns a +1.8 rebounding margin.  Defensively, Evansville is forcing 15.7 turnovers per contest and averaging 7.5 steals per outing.

Toledo (5-5) will also close its non-conference schedule Monday afternoon at the Ford Center and fell to Dayton, 87-75, in its last game back on Dec. 22.  Inma Zanoguera led four Rockets in double figures with 20 points, while Ana Capotosto and Brianna Jones each added 12 points in the defeat.  UT shot 48.5 percent from the floor in the second half, but the Flyers posted a 46.0 percent shooting percentage and finished 10-for-17 from beyond the arc (53.8 percent).

Zanoguera leads a balanced Toledo scoring attacking with a 14.5 points per game average and is also the Rockets' leading rebounder at 8.6 rebounds per contest.  Jones is averaging 10.8 points and 7.1 boards per outing to rank second on the team in both categories, while Janelle Reed-Lewis and Capotosto are pitching in 10.5 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.  Andola Dortch is averaging just shy of double figures (9.9 ppg) and leads UT with 50 assists and 33 steals.

As a team, Toledo averages 71.7 points per game and is shooting 40.9 percent from the field.  The Rockets have connected on 27.0 percent of their shots from long distance and are shooting 67.3 percent at the free throw line.  On the glass, UT owns a +0.5 margin and is pulling down just over 39 rebounds a game.  On the defensive side of the ball, Toledo is forcing 18.6 turnovers per contest for a +4.5 turnover margin and averages 10.0 steals per outing.

Toledo leads the all-time series with Evansville, 4-1, with the Aces' only win coming during the 2001-02 campaign.  The Rockets defeat the Aces, 60-50, in the latest outing last season at the Toledo Invite.
