ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville freshman Sara Dickey was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week for the second time this season Monday afternoon, as announced by the conference office.
 
Dickey led Evansville in scoring this week by averaging 21.5 points per game in the Aces' split with IPFW and Troy.  The Montezuma, Ind., native scored 15 points in UE's win over the Mastodons Wednesday morning, including a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the free throw line.  In addition, she grabbed three rebounds and recorded a trio of assists. 
 
Against Troy, the freshman guard poured in a career-high 28 points by going 9-for-22 from the floor, including a 4-for-7 mark from three-point range.  She also tallied four rebounds, two assists and three steals in the defeat.  For the season, Dickey has scored in double figures in her first nine collegiate games and leads Evansville in scoring with a 19.0 points per game average.
 
Evansville will be back in action Saturday, Dec. 21, when it travels to St. Louis, Mo., for a 12 p.m. game with host Saint Louis.
