ST. LOUIS – University of Evansville sophomore forward Mallory Ladd earned her fourth Missouri Valley Conference weekly award Monday afternoon, when she was named the MVC Newcomer of the Week in an announcement by the league office.
 
Ladd recorded her seventh double-double of the season by scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Purple Aces to a 52-41 win over Southern Illinois Saturday in Carbondale, Ill.  The Evansville native finished 7-for-10 from the field, 2-for-2 at the free throw line and added a career-high three steals.
 
UE (8-13, 6-4 MVC) will return to action Thursday, Feb. 14, when it hosts Indiana State for a 7 p.m. game at the Ford Center.
