EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville softball team has announced that it will hold its Winter Coaches Clinic on February 9
th and 10
th for high school and summer coaches.
“My goal for this clinic is that it will be a really informative and detailed type that allows the coaches to interact in a relaxed atmosphere,” says head coach
Mark Redburn.
Coaches will be able to view practices and training, attend sessions with the UE coaching and strength staff, as well as learn about topics such as defense/offense, pitching, and others.
“This will be a very interactive clinic and each coach will see drills performed live by our players during the team practice time, and other drills on the provided DVD and workbook that we discuss in the classroom sessions,” says Redburn
During the two-day span, coaches will get six hours of instruction and demonstration, a DVD including drill coverage, a workbook with pictures/diagrams, a Q and A session with Division I student-athletes, a recruiting seminar, lunch both days, discounted hotel rates, and more.
The cost is $115 for the first coach and $100 for additional coaches from the same team.
“I know my entire staff and I look forward to sharing our thoughts and ideas about the game and our program with these 20 plus coaches attending this inaugural event,” says Redburn. “I'm also looking forward to spending time with them and getting to know more about their particular programs. My staff and I will address any questions that the coaches may have. We also want to provide them a much deeper understanding about playing softball at this level, but also give them material that they can take back and apply to their teams. “
For more information, coaches can contact UE assistant coach
Jay Pyron at 812-488-2919 or at
