BASEBALL:
Notes: Kyle Lloyd earned MVC Pitcher of the Week honors for his performance over the last week. Last Monday versus Milwaukee, Lloyd took the win, along two earned runs over six innings while striking out seven. In Sunday’s victory at Kennesaw State, Lloyd followed that up by tossing 8 scoreless innings while striking out nine.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Notes: Evansville earned several accolades over the previous week in St. Louis. Colt Ryan earned Scholar Athlete of the Year and First Team All-Conference Honors for the second year in a row. Fellow senior Troy Taylor garnered All-Defensive Team accolades for the second year in a row while freshman D.J. Balentine was named to the All-Bench squad. Balentine also earned All-Freshman Team honors along with Egidijus Mockevicius. The Aces await their potential postseason invitation.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Notes: The Purple Aces ended the regular season on a high note. After taking Creighton to overtime in Omaha, UE picked up a solid road win at Drake, 70-59. They earned a 7
th place finish in the MVC, their top outing in league play since 2007-08. Evansville faces No. 10 seed SIU on Thursday after sweeping them in the regular season. With her performances to finish the season, senior Samantha Heck earned her first MVC Player of the Week honor on Monday.

MEN’S GOLF
Notes: Freshman Alex Turner paced the Aces with a 227 as UE finished in 18
th place at the Samford Intercollegiate. His rounds of 74, 77 and 76 were good for 39
th place. Seven shots behind him was fellow frosh Rick Voyvodic, who notched a 234 while Parker Hensley was a stroke behind him with a 235.

WOMEN’S GOLF
Notes: The UE women open up their slate for the spring of 2013 with a trip to the Don Benbow Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. In the fall, it was freshman Paige Crafton posting the low average for UE as she tallied an 80.82; just behind her was Cathy Doyle with an 81.64. She posted the top finish of the fall for Evansville as she tied for third place at the Braun Intercollegiate in Boonville.

SOFTBALL
Notes: Kayla Fortner and Sarah Patterson led the Aces to a 5-1 mark in six home contests this week. Patterson went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend, going the distance in all three outings. She gave up just five earned runs on 17 hits over her 21 innings of work. Meanwhile, Fortner was a force at the plate as she went 7-of-13 for 10 RBIs on the weekend.

MEN’S SWIMMING
Notes: Evansville participated in the Mid-American Conference Championships over the weekend, taking seventh place in the event. Several student-athletes had solid efforts over the 3-day tournament. On the opening day of action, UE took a fifth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as Ashton Bishop, Phil Stevenson, Alex Seward and Kyle Tiemann swam in the event. In Friday’s second day, UE had another strong effort in the relays, this one in the 200 Yard Medley as Carder Labrake, Justin Shotwell, Seward and Tiemann finished seventh. Saturday saw the team of Ashton Bishop, Ethan O’Rourke, Seward and Tiemann take fifth in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay while Seward placed eighth in the 200-yard Butterfly.
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Notes: A three-match win streak was halted last week as the Aces dropped a pair of matches. In a neutral-site matchup versus UNC Wilmington in Indianapolis, the Aces fell by a 5-0 final before coming out on the wrong end of a 6-1 decision at Arkansas State. Up next for UE is Missouri Valley Conference play as they will face three MVC foes over a stretch of five days beginning on April 3.
