CARBONDALE, Ill. – Day one of the Mid-American Conference Championships for the University of Evansville men’s swimming and diving team is in the books as nine events were completed on Thursday.
Scored from the 500 Yard Free, 200 Yard IM and the 50 Yard Free will be posted when they are available.
The top outing of the day for the Purple Aces came in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay as the quartet of
Ashton Bishop,
Phil Stevenson,
Alex Seward and
Kyle Tiemann placed fifth in the championship. Their seed time of 1:26.38 was improved by over three seconds as the squad posted a 1:23.13 in the championship.
In the 400 Yard Medley Relay, Seward, Bishop along with
Troy Burger and Christopher Weisheit took 7
th place on the strength of a 3:26.07.
Championship heat action in the 50 Yard Freestyle saw the Aces post a pair of top 20 finishes, led by Bishop. He took home a 19
th-place finish with a time of 21.13. He came in just ahead of Tiemann, who notched a 20
th with a 21.19.
