BASEBALL:
Notes: Evansville went 1-2 in its trek to Wichita over the weekend. Kevin Kaczmarski had a stellar weekend as he went 8-12 with a 2-run home run on Saturday. The Aces hit three home runs in Sunday’s loss, marking the first time they hit three in one game since 2011.In Saturday’s win, Kyle Lloyd got the win as he pitched 8 1/3 innings giving up just one earned run while striking out eight. An interesting side not on Lloyd – he retired the leadoff batter in all nine innings of work.

MEN’S GOLF
Notes: Last Monday, the Purple Aces took part in the UE/Butler Challenge in Jasper, Ind. Freshman Alex Turner took the win for the men with his round of 73. The team victory went to Butler, who won by six strokes (308-314). Quinn Vilneff finished in second behind Turner with his 2-over round of 74.

WOMEN’S GOLF
Notes: Evansville’s women’s golf squad took second-place last weekend at the UE/Butler Challenge as they were led by Cathy Doyle’s round of 78, which put her in second place. Paige Crafton and Sydney Skiles tied for fifth place. The MVC Championship opened on Sunday as the Purple Aces finished the first round in seventh place with two more rounds of 18 to go.

SOFTBALL
Notes: As Evansville (19-25, 10-9) went 4-1 this past week in which they won the series against Missouri State and swept Southern Illinois, UE has hit its stride in which they produced 38 hits, four doubles, one home run, 18 RBIs, 10 walks, went 7-for-11 in stolen bases, and outscored their opponents 22-17. The Aces pitching staff was led by senior Sarah Patterson who went 2-0 in the circle while picking up a save against Missouri State. Patterson threw 17.0 innings in which she struck out 19 and held a 3.29 ERA.

WOMEN’S TENNIS
Notes: In its final week of the regular season, the Purple Aces posted a 2-1 mark to finish at 10-10 and 3-4 in the MVC. Evansville dominated in an 8-1 win at USI before falling to eventual regular-season MVC champion Wichita State by a 7-0 final on Saturday. In its final home match of the season, UE rebounded with a 6-1 triumph over Creighton as Marketa Trousilova improved to 6-1 in singles league matches this year.
