Game Recap: Western Kentucky 6, UE 2
Western Kentucky was able to tally a pair or runs quickly in the top of the first after they capitalized on two Evansville errors and took the lead over the Aces, 2-0

After the Lady Toppers retired UE in order, they were able to notch yet another run off an Evansville error and make it a 3-0 game heading into the bottom half of the second. With another quick inning for the Aces, WKU continued to expand its lead in the third after an error by the UE infield made it 4-0.

Evansville was able to tally a run on the board in the bottom of the third inning after a double to right field by Robey drove in a runner while Western Kentucky maintained its lead, 4-1.

The top of the fourth saw a double to center field by WKU that advanced the score, 5-1. As O’Conner doubled to center field for the Aces in the bottom half of the fourth inning, she was left stranded after a line out to the short stop cinched the final out and left UE without any runs.

With a scoreless fifth inning by both teams, the Lady Toppers furthered their lead even more to 6-1 after an RBI single to right center allowed a runner to take home plate. As the Aces were due up in their half of the sixth, they were able to tally a run off a bases loaded, one out situation in which Villanueva reached on a fielder’s choice and Kautz was able to get the run off a throwing error by Western Kentucky. WKU was still in the lead heading into the seventh, 6-2.

Another scoreless inning for both teams allowed Western Kentucky to take the win over Evansville, 6-2, after the Aces were unable to get anything going with a pair of ground outs and a pop up to the infield.

Western Kentucky pitcher Janna Scheff grabbed the win as she improved to 5-2 in the circle. Scheff pitched 7.0 innings while striking out two, allowing one run, and issuing three walks.

UE pitcher Sarah Baldwin, who is now 3-8 on the season, suffered the loss for the Aces as she pitched 5.0 innings while allowing two runs and striking out one. Reliever Annie Moore saw 2.0 innings of work as she struck out one and allowed one run.
