EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville student-athletes
Colt Ryan and
Jill Enge were honored with the top senior awards at the UE Leadership Banquet in April.
Ryan was named as the recipient of the Ralph H. Coleman Scholar-Athlete Award while Enge earned the Lois D. Patton Scholar-Athlete Award. Both are given to the top male and female student-athletes with the Purple Aces.
With 2,279 career points, Ryan leaves UE as its all-time leading scorer. The Batesville, Ind. product also got it done in the classroom as he notched a 3.43 GPA in accounting. Ryan had a career that will be remembered forever in the Missouri Valley Conference. The No. 6 scorer in conference history was also one of the top free throw shooters in school and conference history.
He also leaves Evansville with the most steals in school history and helped UE to a 21-15 mark as a senior, the first 20-win campaign in over a decade. The Purple Aces have been in the postseason in three out of the four years he was on the squad, including this year’s run through the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
Jill Enge has been a staple on the UE swimming team since her arrival in 2009. The physical therapy major has posted a 3.84 GPA while being named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team on three occasions. She has also been honored by the league in each of her four years with the Aces. Enge was a 3-time All-MVC Honorable Mention swimmer while earning second team honors as a junior.
Some of her top performances came at the 2012 MVC Championship where she earned five top-10 finishes along with assisting UE in a pair of top-3 outings in relay action. Her relay squads set several school records while contributing in all four years at UE.
Both awards were handed out at the annual Leadership Awards Reception two weeks ago. Rickey Perkins presented Enge with her award while Aces assistant Geoff Alexander was there for Ryan.
