EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Kyle Freeland made his Cape Cod League debut this week and Jake Mahon is hitting an impressive .377 for the Waterloo Bucks in the highly regarded Northwoods League. Three Evansville pitchers picked up their first wins of the summer season this week and recently-graduated Kyle Lloyd made his professional debut for the Eugene Emeralds, the short-season Class A affiliate of the San Diego Padres. Lloyd allowed one run on two hits in 3.0 innings of relief on June 14 and earned his first professional win by tossing a pair of shutout innings and striking out two on June 18. Meanwhile, former Aces Eric Stamets finished the first half of his professional season with the Inland Empire 66ers, a Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, with a .306 average, a homer, 18 RBI and eight stolen bases.
