OTTAWA, Ontario – Incoming University of Evansville softball player Megan Gurski was selected to the 2013-14 Canadian Women's National Team Athlete Pool in an announcement made by Softball Canada earlier this month.
Gurski, a native of Dalmeny, Saskatchewan, was one of 41 players selected to the Women's National Team Pool making her eligible to be invited to Women's National Team training camps and selection camps.
In 2014, the Women's National Team will compete at the Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship in Surrey, British Columbia and the ISF Women's World Championship in Haarlem, Netherlands.
As a Freshman at Southern Utah University, playing mostly second base, Megan played in 39 games and hit .280 in 93 At Bats.
Megan transferred and played this past season at Jefferson College (Community College) in Hillsboro, Missouri. Pitching mostly, she had a record of 26-3 with 272 strike outs in 189 innings pitched, and an ERA of 0.81. Offensively, she hit .481 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, and 9 Home Runs in 129 At Bats.
