FISHERS, IN – The University of Evansville men's swimming and the whole diving team competed in the Butler Invite today in Fishers, IN. The Aces competed against six other teams. The women's diving team finished with a final score of 44 points which, without the Lady Aces, placed them in last place and the men's squad finished with a score of 444, good enough for a fourth place finish.
Although the Lady Aces diving team finished last in the women's events, they still put together a solid effort in their events. Senior
Stephanie Tran finished sixth in the 1-meter heat and ninth in the 3-meter heat, while freshman
Alex Hart finished ninth in the 1-meter heat and sixth in the 3-meter heat.
Leading the way for the men's squad today were juniors
Troy Burger and
Ashton Bishop and sophomore Ethan O'Rourke.
Burger finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.70 and fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.91. Bishop finished third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.71 and second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.49 and O'Rourke finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.16 and third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.02.
The Aces will look to bounce back as a whole on Feb. 01 in Carbondale when the team competes against Southern Illinois in a dual meet.
