EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville men's soccer player
Patrick Hodges was named Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
The senior defender played a pivotal role in the Aces 2-1 win at Bradley on Sunday, UE's first win at Shea Stadium since 2009. Hodges played all 90 minutes for the Aces, protecting the Evansville lead and earning UE their second consecutive win.
"Patrick is such a valuable member of our team, said Evansville's head coach Mike Jacobs. "When he plays really well, we are a hard team to get good scoring chances against. I think that was the case versus Bradley, both in 1 v 1 and in providing cover in team defending situations."
Hodges was also named to the 2014 Pro Rehab Aces Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team earlier this season.
Evansville will look for their third straight win on Wednesday, October 15 when the Purple Aces host the University of Kentucky Wildcats. The match will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium and will begin at 7:30 p.m.
