Aces Lose At #11 Louisville 3-0

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team (4-8-1) lost on the road at 11th ranked Louisville 3-0 on Tuesday night.
 
Senior goalkeeper Eric Teppen notched five saves on the night.
 
The Purple Aces fell behind early when Louisville scored just 57 seconds into the match. Tim Kubel's original shot was stopped by Teppen but the rebound was kicked in by Andrew Brody for the 1-0 lead.
 
The Cardinals added to their advantage in the 8th minute when Kubel scored on a penalty kick.
 
Louisville outshot UE 10-0 in the opening half and maintained the 2-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Cardinals built on to their lead with an Ivan Gutierrez goal in the 74th minute as Evansville was unable to rally back in the 3-0 loss.
 
The Purple Aces took three shots in the second half but were outshot 20-3 on the evening.
 
Evansville will return to conference play for their next match, an afternoon contest at Drake on October 25 at 4:00 p.m.
