EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A season-high 2,653 fans were on hand as the University of Evansville men's soccer team (5-9-1) lost 2-0 to #2 Indiana on Wednesday night.

Senior goalkeeper Eric Teppen notched six saves on the night.

IU struck early in the 7th minute when Patrick Doody curved a corner kick into the 18 yard box for a Grant Lillard header. The goal was the fourth this season for Lillard and moved the Hoosiers ahead of the Aces 1-0.

Evansville had an opportunity to tie the match nine minutes later but a header from sophomore forward Jared Robinson sailed high over the crossbar.

Indiana maintained the 1-0 edge until the final moments of the opening half when the Hoosiers struck again. In the 42nd minute, Matt Foldesy passed the ball to Femi Hollinger-Janzen on the left side of the six yard box for the shot and score. The fifth goal of the year by Hollinger-Janzen pushed the Aces behind 2-0.

The Hoosiers maintained the two goal advantage into halftime and continued to outshoot the Aces 13-3 in the second half. However, neither team scored a goal in the second half.

UE ended the evening with the final three shots. Senior forward Charlie Macias hit a two-bouncing shot with two and a half minutes left, and had another blast from the top of the 18 yard box with two minutes remaining.
