EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's basketball team announced on Wednesday that senior guard Khristian Hart, senior forward Mallory Ladd and junior guard Laura Friday would be the team's captains for the 2014-15 season.

Hart and Ladd are returning captains from last season as Friday is a first-year captain for the Aces.

Hart is an Evansville native who played basketball at Harrison High School. She has been a member of the UE basketball team since 2010 and is honored to be a captain.

"I'm happy that the coaches are confident in putting me in this role," said Hart. "This is my last year and I expect a lot out of everyone. I demand a lot out of my teammates and I want them to have the same expectations as me."

Ladd is also an Evansville resident who played at Memorial High School and was named to the all Missouri Valley Conference honorable mention team last season.

"It is an honor to be captain," added Ladd. "I want to continue to be the general for this team on and off the court. I always want to push our players to be the best and strive forward."

Friday is entering her third season with the Purple Aces and the point guard is ready to begin the chase for a championship.

"This year is exciting because we have a really good group of girls that have bought into coach Epps and into our system," said Friday. "We are all determined to do what we need to do to reach our goal of winning an MVC Championship."

The team was selected fourth in the 2014-2015 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll on Tuesday. Sophomore guard Sara Dickey, the MVC Co-Freshman of the Year in 2013-2014, was also named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
