Aces honor seniors, host Loyola on Saturday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team (5-9-1, 3-1-0) will hold their annual Senior Day ceremony when they host the Loyola Ramblers on Saturday, November 1. The match will be held at Arad McCutchan Stadium and begin at 7:00 p.m.
 
Seniors Felipe Cortez, Joel Craig, Patrick Hodges, Charlie Macias, Luis Romero, Nick Schroeder, Kevin Schafer, Dylan Terry and Eric Teppen will all be honored in pregame ceremonies.
 
UE lost 2-0 in their last match against #2 Indiana on Wednesday evening. There was a season-high 2,653 fans in attendance at Arad McCutchan Stadium. Teppen led Evansville defensively with six saves on the night. 
 
On the stat sheet, Macias has a team-high six goals. Junior midfielder Mark Anthony Gonzalez has totaled five goals this season. Junior midfielder Faik Hajderovic has taken the most shots on the team with 39.  Hajderovic and Terry each have a team-high four assists this season. Teppen has played most of the minutes in net for UE this year. He has grabbed 72 saves, has a .735 saves percentage and a 1.74 goals against average.
 
As a team, Evansville is averaging 11.3 shots and 1.47 goals per match. The Purple Aces have also taken 56 corner kicks this season.
 
Loyola (6-4-5, 1-1-2) was projected to finish sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll but is currently fourth in the standings.
 
The Ramblers won their last match 1-0 at home over #20 Northwestern. Brian Bement scored in the 98th minute to defeat the Wildcats in overtime. Goalkeeper Tim Dobrowolski had two saves in the victory.
 
Elliot Collier has a team-high three goals this season for Loyola. Bement and Howe each have two goals totaled for the Ramblers this year. Bement also leads Loyola in assists with three. Dobrowolski has been the main keeper for the Ramblers this season. He has 44 saves, a .815 saves percentage and a 0.66 goals against average.
 
Loyola averages 10.7 shots and 0.93 goals per match. They have taken 79 corner kicks this season compared to just 52 for their opponents.
 
Evansville is an undefeated 15-0 against Loyola, including a 5-0 mark at home.
