WatchMUNCIE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's basketball team (1-0) starts the first of five consecutive games on the road when they play at the Ball State Cardinals on Wednesday, November 19. The game will be held at Worthen Arena in Muncie, Indiana and begin at 6:00 p.m.
The Aces are fresh off a regular season opening 72-68 home win over the Austin Peay Lady Govs on Sunday, November 16. Four University of Evansville women's basketball players scored in double figures as sophomore forward
Sasha Robinson set a new career-high with 16 rebounds. Sophomore guard
Sara Dickey led the Purple Aces with 20 points. Senior forward
Mallory Ladd notched her 16
th career double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Senior guard
Khristian Hart also provided 13 points off the bench, a last minute steal and a pair of final second free throws in the Aces narrow win. Freshman guard
Taloni Reese had 11 points in her collegiate debut.
Evansville is projected to finish fourth in the MVC preseason poll, their highest projection since 2008-2009. Dickey was also named to the preseason All-Conference team.

Ball State (0-1) lost their only regular season game, a 66-60 defeat at home against the Purdue Boilermakers on Friday, November 14. Guard Nathalie Fontaine recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Guards Shelbie Justice (14) and Jill Morrison (12) both reached double figure points in the loss. The Cardinals outshot the Boilermakers 44% to 34% from the floor in the defeat.
Ball State is projected to finish second in the MAC West Division preseason poll. Fontaine was also placed on the All-MAC West Preseason Team.
The Purple Aces are 7-6 all-time against Ball State including an 80-69 victory over the Cardinals at home in 2013. Five players scored in double figures including a game-high 22 points from Dickey and double-doubles from both Ladd (10 points, 13 rebounds) and Robinson (13 points, 10 rebounds).Evansville won the last meeting at Ball State 54-45 on November 9, 2012. Hart scored a game-high 19 points in the season-opener for both teams.
UE's next home game will be on Saturday, December 6 against Miami (Ohio) for a 4:00 p.m. tip at the Ford Center.
