WatchMORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The University of Evansville women's basketball team (1-2) continues their season-long five consecutive road games when they visit #22 / #21 West Virginia on Wednesday night. The tip is set for 6:00 p.m. CT at WVU Coliseum.

UE looks for their first win on the roadswing after losing at Ball State last week and being defeated at IPFW 77-59 in their last contest. Senior forward
Mallory Ladd scored a career-high 31 points in the game.

On the stat sheet, Ladd has a team-best 18.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. Senior guard
Khristian Hart is second on the team with 16.0 points per game including a season-high 26 points at Ball State. Sophomore guard
Sara Dickey is also averaging double figures with 15.0 points per game this season. Sophomore forward
Sasha Robinson is grabbing 8.3 rebounds per game. UE is averaging 67.0 points and 34.7 rebounds per game. The Aces are shooting 37.8% from the floor, 32.8% on threes and 75.4% at the free throw line.

West Virginia (2-1) won their first two games of the season before losing 74-61 at Mississippi State in the semifinals of the preseason WNIT on November 20. Averee Field piloted the Mountaineers offense with a game-high 23 points. Bria Holmes also added 18 points for West Virginia in the defeat.

Statistically, Holmes has a team-best 25.7points per game. Fields (18.7) and Teana Muldrow (11.3) are both averaging double figure points per game as well. Crystal Leary leads WVU with 8.7 rebounds per game. Fields also has 7.0 rebounds per game this season. West Virginia is scoring 72.3 points and recording 44.3 rebounds per game. The Mountaineers are making 41.1% of their field goals, 32.8 on threes, and 65.3 at the free throw line.

Evansville is projected to finish fourth in the MVC preseason poll, their highest projection since 2008-2009. Dickey was also named to the preseason All-Conference team. West Virginia is projected to place third in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. Holmes was named a preseason Big 12 First Team selection, a Lindy's All-American and the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year.

Evansville is 0-1 all time against West Virginia. The Mountaineers won the only matchup between the two teams 77-45 on December 6, 1991. The game was played at Assembly Hall on the campus of Indiana University. Five West Virginia players scored double figures including a game-high 16 points for Rosemary Kosiorek. UE's Christy Greis notched a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds in the defeat.
