Watch LiveSPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team (6-9-1, 4-1-0) will play their Missouri Valley Conference regular season finale at Missouri State on Saturday, November 8. The match will be held at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium and begin at 7:00 p.m.
Currently, Evansville (12 points) trails SIUE (13 points) for the conference lead but the Aces are ahead of Missouri State (11 points). If UE beats Missouri State and SIUE either ties or loses to Loyola, Evansville will be the outright MVC regular season champions. If Evansville ties Missouri State and SIUE loses to Loyola, UE and SIUE would be crowned co-regular season champions. However, the Cougars would be the #1 seed in the MVC Tournament based on the head-to-head matchup earlier this season (SIUE 2-0 win at Evansville on Sept. 29).
UE won their last match 2-1 over Loyola on Saturday, November 1. The Aces honored nine seniors prior to the match and it was junior forward
Mark Anthony Gonzalez who pushed Evansville ahead with a goal in the 50
th minute. Loyola responded with the tying goal on a penalty kick in the 81
st minute, only to witness UE go back ahead on a goal from senior defender

Luis Romero have an MVC-best three assists this year. As a team, Evansville is averaging 11.1 shots and 1.50 goals per match. The Purple Aces have also taken 57 corner kicks this season.
Missouri State (7-4-4, 3-0-2) was projected to finish first in the MVC preseason poll and is currently in third place behind SIUE and Evansville.
The Bears played to a double overtime tie 1-1 at SIUE in their last match on Saturday, November 1. Missouri State was ahead 1-0 after a Jack Roberts goal in the 24
th minute. The Cougars evened the score 11 seconds before halftime with a Christian Volesky game-tying goal. Goalkeeper Addison Watson grabbed three saves in the tie.
Emmerich Hoegg has a team-best five goals, 10 points, 11 shots on goal and three game winning goals this season. James Thomas leads all Bears with three assists. Watson has played the majority of the Missouri State minutes in goal this season, going 6-4-3 with a 0.59 goals against average and a .758 saves percentage. The Bears average 9.4 shots and 0.87 goals per match. Missouri State has taken 44 corner kicks this year.
The Bears lead UE 14-9-3 in the all-time series. Missouri State won the last meeting 1-0 in overtime at Arad McCutchan Stadium in 2013 but the Aces were victorious in the last matchup at Missouri State 2-0 on October 10, 2012.
