WatchEVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville women's basketball team (3-4) continues their three-game homestand when they host the Oakland City Lady Oaks in their annual Education Day game on Tuesday. The tip is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Ford Center in Evansville.
UE has won back to back games including a 51-41 victory their last game vs. Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, December 6. The Aces yielded a season-low in points during the win. Senior forward
Mallory Ladd notched her 17
th career double-double with a 14 point 12 rebound performance in the Evansville victory. Sophomore guard
Sara Dickey also added nine points and a career-high six assists in the Aces second straight win. UE forced 24 turnovers in the game and had 10 steals on the night. The Aces committed only 10 turnovers in the game, tying a season low (Ball State, Nov. 16). Freshman guard
Kenyia Johnson set new career highs with seven points and four rebounds in the contest. Dickey and Ladd both tied career-highs with four steals each in the game.
On the stat sheet, Evansville is led by Dickey is who is averaging 19.3 points per game. Ladd is also in double figures, scoring 17.3 points per game for the Aces. Ladd also has a team-best 7.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this season. Freshman guard
Taloni Reese is creating 1.9 steals per game. UE is averaging 65.4 points and 32.6 rebounds per game. The Aces are making 38.8% of their field goals, 32.0% of threes, and 71.8% at the free throw line.
Oakland City (3-5) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 77-62 victory over Ohio University – Lancaster on Saturday, December 6. Chelsea Jellison had 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals in the win.
Statistically, Raven Greer leads the Lady Oaks with 17.8 points per game as Jellison is also netting 13.1 points per game. Jellison is Oakland City's top rebounder with 4.9 per game. Greer boasts a team-best 4.7 assists per game. The Lady Oaks average 66.6 points and 32.2 rebounds per game. Oakland City shoots 37.8% from the floor, 35.1% on threes, and 76.5% on free throws.
Evansville is projected to finish fourth in the MVC preseason poll, their highest projection since 2008-2009. Dickey was also named to the preseason All-Conference team. The Aces are led by fourth year head coach

The Aces are 23-5 all-time against the Lady Oaks and have not played Oakland City since an exhibition game in 2011. UE won that game 78-41 behind 21 points from forward Samantha Heck.
