EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A pair of matches await the University of Evansville women's tennis team this weekend, beginning on Friday evening as the Purple Aces open their home slate against Eastern Illinois at the Tri-State Athletic Club.

Match time is set for 7 p.m. before the Aces make their way to Edwardsville, Ill. on Saturday to take on the Cougars beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Evansville put forth a strong effort last weekend, but fell to No. 65 Louisville by a 6-1 final at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.  Sophomore Marina Moreno was UE's top performer as she earned a win at flight three singles.  She defeated Cassie Pough in two sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Through four spring matches, a pair of Aces stand at 2-2 in singles action as Marketa Trousilova and Mina Milovic have split the opening three weekends.  Both victories for Milovic came in the sixth flight as she started the season 2-0 with wins over Middle Tennessee State and Lipscomb.

Trousilova also began 2014 at 2-0 in singles.  Playing at the No. 2 spot in the opening weekend, she picked up a win over MTSU and in her first action of the season at the top flight, she defeated Lipscomb.

Friday's opponent, Eastern Illinois, sits at a perfect 3-0 on the spring with two of those triumphs coming over Missouri Valley Conference foes.  The Panthers opened the season with a 4-3 win at Illinois State before taking a home win (4-3) over Southern Illinois last weekend.

Their top performer has been Ali Foster, who sports a perfect 3-0 record at the No. 4 spot.

SIUE is Saturday's opponent as the Aces make their way back on the road.  The Cougars stand at 3-2 this season with victories over Dayton, Wright State before a 4-2 win over Chicago State last weekend.

Mia Frogner is a perfect 5-0 in the spring for SIUE, winning all three singles outings at the third slot while going 2-0 in flight four.  When you combine that with her fall record, she is an impressive 13-1.
