College Sports Madness Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Kayla Fortner of the University of Evansville softball team was honored by College Sports Madness, as it released its 2014 Missouri Valley Conference Preseason All-Conference Team.
 
The junior outfielder was selected to the 12-member First Team Preseason All-Conference Team, after hitting .279 with nine home runs, 36 RBI and 78 total bases in 2013. Fortner was selected to the 2013 MVC Softball Championship All-Tournament Team and was selected to the 2014 MVC Preseason All-Conference Team that was released by the League in January.
 
UE will begin its season on Feb. 14 in Birmingham, Ala., where the Aces will take on Eastern Kentucky in the Samford Tournament. Evansville's first home game on the season will be on Mar. 1, as the Aces take on Northern Illinois in the Evansville Invitational. The Aces will begin conference play on Mar. 15, when they take on Indiana State.
