FORT MYERS, Fla. – Evansville's second matchup on their trek to Florida saw the Purple Aces fall by a 4-1 final on the road to Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday afternoon.

For the fifth time in six matches, the Aces were victorious in doubles as
Kelsey Costales and
Natasha James hung on for an 8-7 win over sisters Elizabeth and Sarah Means.Â
Marina Moreno and
Marketa Trousilova were also victorious for the second day in a row. The pair got past Johanna Sterkel and Bettina Botha, 8-6.

In flight three, Breana Stampfli and Candela Munoz Giron finished with an 8-2 victory over
Mina Milovic and
Andjela Brguljan.

The Eagles swept singles play as they completed the 4-1 victory with two matches going unfinished. Stampfli earned the win over James in the second spot, 6-4, 7-6 while Sterkel defeated Costales, 6-3, 6-1, in their matchup in the third slot.

E. Means defeated Moreno in the fourth flight, 6-3, 6-3 while Munoz Giron was victorious over Brguljan in group five, 6-0, 6-0. Flights one and six were unfinished. At the top spot, Trousilova held the lead over S. Means, winning the first set 6-3. Following a 6-4 defeat in the second, she held a 2-1 edge in the third. Milovic held the advantage in the sixth flight, 3-6, 6-2 and 4-5.

On Thursday, Evansville will look for a winning record on the trip as they take on James Madison. Set for a noon ET start, the match will be held at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.
