UE Swimming & Diving in Seventh Place after Day Two

Aces finish day two at MAC Championships in Seventh Place

Second Day Results

BUFFALO, NY. – After day two of the Mid-American Championships, the University of Evansville men's swimming & diving team is in seventh place. The Purple Aces had a strong day two in Buffalo, NY and will look to continue to improve on Saturday.
 
Preliminary Events
The 400-yard IM preliminary round saw Will Glasscock finish in 19th place over with a time of 4:11.92, fellow freshman Andrew Cotton finish in 23rd with a time of 4:16.85 and junior Garrett Johnson finish 24th with a time of 4:20.79.
 
Junior Ashton Bishop finished 12th overall in the 100-yard butterfly prelims, advancing him to the finals. Carder Labrake finished 22nd with a time of 52.10, Chris Weisheit finished 23rd with a time of 52.83, Skyler Shinn finished in 24th with a time of 53.82 and Thomas Steele finished in 25th with a time of 54.14.
 
The 200-yard freestyle prelims saw Cameron Wickes finish in 21st with a time of 1:44.65, Phil Stevenson finish in 25th with a time of 1:47.19, Dan Musselwhite finish in 26th with a time of 1:47.83 and Matt Newland finished in 27th with a time of 1:48.10.
 
Troy Burger finished 11th in the prelims for the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 56.56 and Will Glasscock finished 16th with a time of 57.96, qualifying both for the finals. Conor Sprick finished in 17th with a time of 59.23 and Wade Mobley finished 19th with a time of 1:00.48.
 
Four Aces competed in the 100-yard backstroke prelims, with Ethan O'Rourke finishing in 19th with a time of 51.14, Matthew Childress finished in 22nd with a time of 52.43, Reid Mobley finished in 23rd with a time of 52.58, Carder Labrake finished in 24th with a time of 52.95.
 
Finals Day 2 Results
The finals round for day-two started with the 200-yard medley relay. Evansville's squad of Ethan O'Rourke, Troy Burger, Chris Weisheit and Ashton Bishop finished in sixth place with a time of 1:32.44.
 
The B-Final for the 100-yard butterfly saw Ashton Bishop finish in fifth place, 13th overall, with a time of 49.91.
 
Troy Burger finished in third, 11th overall, in the 100-yard breaststroke B-Finals with a time of 56.32 and Will Glasscock finished in sixth, 14th overall, with a time of 57.73.
 
In the 800-yard freestyle relay, UE's team of Ethan O'Rourke, Troy Burger, Carder Labrake and Ashton Bishop finished in sixth with a time of 3:24.31.
 
Evansville will compete in the final day of the MAC Championships tomorrow. Day three will start with prelims at 11:00 a.m. (EST), finals at 7:00 p.m. (EST) and MAC awards at 9:25 p.m. (EST).
