EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
Looking to gain momentum heading into the homestretch of Missouri Valley Conference play, the University of Evansville women's tennis team did just that on Wednesday, earning a 9-0 win against the University of Southern Indiana at the USI Tennis Courts.

The 9-0 score was due to Division II rules with each doubles flight counting as one point.  Evansville won its second match in a row while improving to 7-10 on the season.  The Screaming Eagles fell to 6-14 with the defeat.

Natasha James and Kelsey Costales faced Elizabeth Wilm and Morgan Coquerille at top doubles, earning an 8-2 win.  In flight two, Marketa Trousilova and Marina Moreno took an 8-1 win over Brenna Wu and Elizabeth Skinner.  James and Costales were winners for the fifth match in a row while Trousilova and Moreno won for the fourth straight time.

All six singles flights went UE's way with each going just two sets.  Trousilova got the job done at the top flight, defeating Coquerille, 6-0, 6-0.  She improved to 8-1 in her last nine outings.

James moved to 5-1 in her last six in the second flight.  She defeated Wilm, 6-1, 6-2.  At the third flight, Moreno topped Wu, 6-2, 6-0.  No. 4 singles saw Costales earn the win over Skinner, 6-1, 6-1.

It is back to the road for the remainder of the season for the Purple Aces.  That trek begins this weekend with a trip to face Wichita State on Sunday for a 10 a.m. match.  April 18 and 19 will see UE face Illinois State and Bradley before heading to the MVC Team Championships in Bloomington, Ill. beginning on April 25.
