Aces Soccer Travels to Butler on Wednesday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team will be back on the road Wednesday, as the Purple Aces will head north to Indianapolis for a 6 p.m. match with Butler at the Butler bowl.
 
Evansville (2-4-1) split a pair of matches last weekend at Arad McCutchan Stadium, topping Mercer 3-1 on Friday night before narrowly being defeated 1-0 by Marshall on Sunday afternoon.
 
Junior midfielder Faik Hajderovic recorded nine shots this weekend, including a goal against Mercer. Senior forward Nick Schroeder and senior midfielder Felipe Cortez both netted goals this past weekend as well.
 
As a team, UE is averaging 1.57 goals and 13.4 shots per outing.  Evansville has put 25 of its 94 shots on frame for a .372 shot on goal percentage. The Purple Aces have taken 23 corner kicks this season, while yielding 25.
 
Senior defender Charlie Macias leads Evansville with four goals and nine total points this season. He also has an assist this year as well. Hajderovic and junior midfielder Mark Anthony Gonzalez both have two goals each this season. Hajderovic has a team-best 24 shots this season, nine of which have been on goal.
 
Senior goalkeeper Eric Teppen enters the match against Butler with a 1.56 goals against average and a .694 save percentage. He has played in all seven of the Aces matches this season.
 
Butler (3-2-3) won their last match against Loyola 2-1 on Saturday. Jeff Adkins and David Goldsmith both scored in the Bulldogs last victory.
 
Butler is averaging 1.25 goals and 11.9 shots per match. The Bulldogs have recorded 47 shots, 49% on goal.
 
Adkins and Goldsmith lead Butler with four goals each this season. Adkins has taken the most shots of any Bulldog this season with 25.
 
Wednesday will be the 24th meeting between Butler and Evansville. The Aces hold the 14-9 advantage in the all-time series.
