EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Evansville women's basketball player Khristian Hart was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

MVC Release

Hart led the Aces (10-7, 5-1) to three wins this week by averaging 18.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game.

"It was an honor being nominated, let alone being selected as the MVC Player of the Week," said Hart. "But none of this would have been possible without the help of my teammates and encouragement from my coaches! We have been preparing extremely hard for each opponent, and have all been challenged to step up and contribute each game. I'm just fulfilling my role on this Aces team."

Hart guided UE to a 40-point win over Bradley on Jan.12, the largest margin of victory for Evansville in league play since joining the MVC for the 1994-95 season. Hart had 12 points in the game on 5-for-8 shooting while going 2-for-3 beyond the arc. The Evansville native also tallied 24 points off the bench in a win at Illinois State on Jan. 16. Hart tied a season-high by making nine field goals in 13 chances including a 4-for-6 mark on three-point field goals. Hart then capped the weekend with another 19 points off the bench in a road win at Southern Illinois on Jan. 18. Hart scored 14 of those points in the first half, finished 7-for-12 in the game and 4-for-6 beyond the arc in another win.

"We are happy for K-Hart," said UE head coach Oties Epps. "She had a great week for us. Her hard work is paying off. We feel that she is very capable of putting up these type of numbers every night."

Hart's .536 field goal percentage is second in the league and trails only teammate Sasha Robinson (.677). Her .571 three-point field-goal percentage is third most in the league.

Hart is also averaging 2.0 steals per game in the Valley, which is 8th highest. Her 15.0 points per game in League play are ninth most in the MVC.

Evansville will put their 6-0 home mark and 10-game home winning streak on the line on Friday, Jan. 23 when the Aces host Northern Iowa at the Ford Center at 7:00 p.m.
