SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The University of Evansville women's basketball team (6-6) won at Missouri State for the first time since 2007, and claimed only their second win ever in Springfield, with a 65-56 victory over the Lady Bears on Friday night.

Khristian Hart provided a team-high 15 points off the bench. Guard

Evansville never trailed in the contest and started the game with a 5-0 run in front of the 2,594 fans at JQH Arena. Guard
Taloni Reese converted on a lay-up 51 seconds into the contest and Ladd followed that with a three pointer just 34 seconds later.

After Missouri State rallied back to trail by a single point 10-9, the Aces surged further ahead by scoring the next 10 consecutive points. Hart tallied five points during the stretch that pushed UE up 20-9 with 8:34 remaining in the first half.

The Lady Bears then brought the deficit to two points with another 10-1 run as UE withstood Ladd's second foul to maintain a four point halftime edge. Hart had a team-high 10 points and three steals at the half. The Aces notched assists on eight of their nine first-half baskets. UE also forced 14 Missouri State turnovers in the first 20 minutes.

Evansville rebuilt the lead to eight points a few minutes into the second half only to watch as Missouri State pulled back within a point. Then, UE went back up by seven points, 48-41, with a Dickey three at the 9:19 junction of the second half. Missouri State immediately answered with a 7-0 run to tie the game at 48. It was only the second time the game was tied.

The Aces inched back ahead and took a four point lead, 56-52, on a Sasha Robinson tipped ball that went in the basket off Missouri State. The Aces then made nine free throws over the final 1:58 to secure the victory.

Evansville was 18-for-24 at the free throw line in the win and made 16 assists on their 19 made field goals. Robinson was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor in the game, the second time she has accomplished that feat this season. Ladd led the Aces with five assists.

Evansville will continue the weekend road trip with a contest at Wichita State on Sunday, January 4 at 12:05 p.m. The game will be held at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita, Ks. Due to a UE men's basketball game airing at the same time, the women's basketball game will air on tape delay at 7 p.m. on Sunday night on WUEV 91.5 FM.
