EVANSVILLE, Ind. –
The University of Evansville women's basketball team (10-8, 5-2) received a game-high 16 points from guard Sara Dickey but Northern Iowa pulled away late for a 58-44 win on Friday night at the Ford Center.

Evansville's four game winning streak, 6-0 home mark, and stretch of 10 consecutive wins at the Ford Center were all snapped in the defeat.

Northern Iowa began the game by scoring the first seven points, all of which were tallied by forward Amber Sorenson.

Fueled by nine straight points from Dickey, the Aces went on an 11-4 stretch to pull within three points.

Trailing 14-11, the Aces were within a single possession of the Panthers. However, UE failed to score over the final 10:58 of the opening stanza as UNI entered halftime on a 10-0 run. The Aces were held to a season-low 15.4% shooting in the first half.

Out of halftime, the Panthers built the lead to as large as 19 before Evansville pushed back. The Aces outscored UNI 18-6 midway through the second half, to inch within seven points. Forward Sasha Robinson and guard Kat Taylor both had five points each in the rally to pull UE within a 40-33 margin.

With 9:46 left in regulation, the Panthers extended the lead with a 13-2 run for a 20 point advantage.

UE scored six of the final seven points on the night but UNI held on for the 58-44 win.

Robinson nearly had a double-double with eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds on the night.

Guard Khristian Hart set a new career-high with eight rebounds in the game. Guard Laura Friday tied a season-high with seven points.

This is only the second defeat for the Aces in conference play and first loss overall at the Ford Center this season. The defeat marks the first UE women's basketball loss since Feb. 6, 2014 against Drake.

Evansville will now host the Drake Bulldogs on Sunday, Jan. 25. The tip is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. Fans are encouraged to wear Purple as the team will have a "Purple Out" on Sunday afternoon.
