West Lafayette, IN– The University of Evansville Women's Tennis Team finished up their fall season on Saturday at Purdue University. Following are some comments from Aces Head Tennis Coach Jayson Wiseman.
On Marina Moreno's 6-1, 6-2 loss to Sydney Campbell of Vanderbilt on Saturday:
"Marina has been playing terrific tennis all fall. Even in some tough losses, she has been working hard and improving. Each of our last three tournaments, you can see the results starting to come with that hard work. Her last two matches out have been two of her biggest wins in her UE career. She has built fantastic momentum that she will look to carry over to her next match, and into the spring.
On Doreen Crasta and Marine Darzyan's 8-0 loss to Mami Adachi and Aldila Sutjiada of Kentucky:
"Despite the loss, today was the most complete doubles performance Marine & Doreen have put together so far here at UE. They were neck and neck with a top 10 team in the country, if they had executed on a few key points, that match would have had a much different outcome. It is a glimpse of how good these two can be as a team this spring."
On the Aces performance overall on the weekend:
"I'm very proud of the way we came out and fought against some tough opponents. Our team refused to be intimidated by the name or the conference of their opponents, and went out and played our brand of tennis and the results were very encouraging. We have a lot of positive things to build on as we prepare for our spring season."
