KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- University of Evansville midfielder Mark Anthony Gonzalez hauled in yet another plaudit as the three-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection was named to the NSCAA All-West Region Second Team.
 
"This is a very deserving honor for Mark Anthony," UE head coach Marshall Ray said. "He's been one of the most consistent players in our region over the past four years, and it's nice to see him get recognized for it once again."
 
Gonzalez, who had previously taken home an all-region designation in both 2013 and 2014, enjoyed another strong individual season this past fall as he finished the year with a team-best seven goals and two assists.
 
Gonzalez ended his UE career with 27 goals, and the Toronto native is the ninth-ever three-time all-region honoree for the Purple Aces. Former player Robby Lynch was the last to achieve the feat, doing so from 2008-10.
 
In all, UE has been represented on an all-region squad 80 times.
