EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Guard
Sara Dickey scored a game-high 32 points on Friday night as the University of Evansville women's basketball team (10-13, 5-7) lost 62-53 to the visiting Southern Illinois Salukis at the Ford Center.

Dickey now is just 20 points shy of becoming only the 19
th player in UE women's basketball history to reach 1,000 career points. She will have a chance to reach that plateau at home when the Aces host Illinois State on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.

Fueled by six early points from Dickey, Evansville leapt ahead of Southern Illinois 8-0. Southern Illinois answered back with the next nine for a one point edge.

A three from guard
Kat Taylor moved UE back in front 11-9 at the 13:33 mark of the first half. The Aces never surrendered the lead the remainder of the half, building the advantage as high as nine points with 8:50 to go before the break. SIU ended the opening half by scoring four consecutive points, bringing the UE lead to 26-24. Dickey netted 15 of UE's points in the first half.

The Salukis scored four of the first six points after halftime to tie the game at 28. Evansville surged back to go ahead 36-30 on a Dickey layup with 14:27 to play in regulation.

Dickey was the only scorer for UE during a 15 minute stretch from the 5:49 mark of the opening half to the 10:49 junction of the second half. She personally scored 16 points in the timeframe for the Aces until the Salukis evened up the score at 39.

Khristian Hart moved UE back in front 43-39 but SIU followed with a 14-4 run for a double digit lead. Four different Salukis scored during the stretch as SIU would go on to win the game by nine points.

Dickey finished the evening 11-for-22 from the floor, 4-of-11 on threes and 6-for-8 at the free throw line. The 32 points ties a UE women's basketball single game scoring record at the Ford Center (Amanda Hyde, IPFW, Dec. 4, 2013). Dickey's 32 points also sets a new single game scoring mark by any Evansville women's basketball player at the Ford Center. Dickey now has three career 30 point games.

Robinson secured 11 rebounds in the game, her eighth double digit rebounding game of the year (16
th career). With the defeat, the Aces have now lost six games in a row.

Evansville will have their Think Pink game on Sunday when the team plays the Redbirds of Illinois State. UE will be handing out pink t-shirts and pink "Believe" wristbands prior to the game. The Purple Aces players and coaches will also be giving cookies to their loyal fans after the game. The tip is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.
