Aces Softball Beats Oklahoma State

The University of Evansville Softball team came up with a big 8-5 win over Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon.  The win came after a 7-2 loss to Lipscomb earlier on Saturday morning. Mickaela Fleming had a big game against the Cowboys with a homerun and four RBIs.
 
In the early game against Lipscomb, the Aces jumped a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Chandra Parr homered to center field.  Lipscomb came out in the bottom of the third and scored five runs and never looked back.  They were able to get two more runs in the bottom of the fifth making the score 7-1.  Haylee Tracy scored off of a Hayli Scott single but it wasn't enough for the Aces.
 
Against Oklahoma State the Aces jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning off of runs from Chandra Parr, Hayli Scott, and Ashlee Kawall.  Oklahoma State responded with two runs in the top of the second making the score 3-2.  Evansville came out in the top of the fourth and was able to get two more runs from Parr and Kawall.  Both teams were able to get a run a piece in the fifth making the score 6-3 in the favor of the Aces. After two runs from Oklahoma State in the top of the sixth, Mickaela Fleming connected for her two run homerun scoring Abbi Fahse to seal the victory for the Aces.  Amanda Blankenship went five innings to earn her first victory of the year.
 
The Aces will wrap up the tournament tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. against host South Alabama.  The Aces will see their first home action on March 14th when they take on conference opponent Loyola.
