Five players finished in double figures as the Purple Aces earned a 72-64 win at Southern Illinois on Saturday.  Up by one at the half, the Aces utilized a 14-4 run to go on top for good midway through the second half, UE shot 66.7% in the period and 56.3% overall.  D.J. Balentine paced the UE scorers with 15 points while Jaylon Moore tied his season mark with 13.  Evansville held the Salukis to 34.6% shooting in the first half and disrupted the Saluki attack, holding them to just four assists on 20 made buckets.

Senior Jaylon Moore is playing the best basketball of his college career as his time at Evansville begins to wind down.  Against SIU, Moore hit 6 of his 7 attempts to tie his season mark with 13 points; Moore was in a groove as he hit numerous different shots from dunks to floaters.  In the midst of his race to be the Dark Horse Dunker, Moore registered three dunks at SIU.  He has started six of the last eight games while playing extensive minutes in the last three, averaging 25.3 minutes.  With his 6-of-7 effort versus the Salukis, Moore's season shooting currently stands at 75%.

Just as Adam Wing has been improving each and every day after injury, redshirt sophomore Mislav Brzoja is in the same boat.  Brzoja missed four games to do a hand injury, but has made his way back to play in the last four games.  Over those four games, his minutes have improved each time and at SIU, he had his best game since returning as he hit four of his six attempts to finish with 12 points; he also drained a pair of 3-pointers.

Drake comes to the Ford Center riding a 4-2 stretch as the squad has improved to 8-18 overall and 5-9 in league play.  The Bulldogs fell last time out by a 75-54 final at Indiana State despite 18 points from Trevor Berkeley.

Freshman Reed Timmer is the leading scorer for Drake at 11.1 points per game; in DU's win over Evansville in Des Moines, he scored 18 points.  Just behind him is Gary Ricks, who checks in with 10.7 points.  Center Jacob Enevold is their top rebounder, currently standing at 5.4 per contest.
