UCONN Box Score
Troy, AL – The University of Evansville Women's Softball was in action on Saturday when they took losses to Kennesaw State and Connecticut. Kennesaw State defeated the Aces by a score of 7-4. UCONN defeated the Aces by a score of 6-3.
Against Kennesaw State the action started quickly when both teams were able to grab two runs a piece in the first inning. Chandra Parr scored the first run of the game for the Aces off of an error. Susan Norris then had a sacrifice fly to score Mickaela Fleming to tie the game up. Kennesaw State was then able to get two more runs in the top of the second making the score 4-2. In the bottom of the third, after Susan Norris singled to center field, Mariah Ferguson homered to left center field to tie the game up at four runs apiece. Kennesaw State was then able to pick up a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to secure a 7-4 victory.
UCONN was able to get out to a quick 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. They added to their lead in third inning with one run and then again in the fourth with two more runs. Evansville was finally able to get the offense going during the top of the fifth inning when Brooke Childress walked and then Courtney Land was able to double to center field putting runners on second and third. Haylee Tracy then singled through the right side and scored both Childress and Land making the score 4-2. The Aces grabbed one more run in the top of the sixth when Hayli Scott doubled and then was able to score off a Mariah Ferguson single but it wasn't enough as the Aces fell 6-3.
