Evansville, IN – The University of Evansville Women's softball team (4-13, 0-0 MVC) was back in action again on Sunday when they played both Kennesaw State and Mercer for the second day in a row. Evansville got the offense rolling and put up a stellar effort against Kennesaw State but fell short with a final score of 10-8. The Aces then saw a Mercer team that they defeated yesterday by a score of 6-4 but were not as successful today, losing by a score of 7-1.

Evansville saw Kennesaw State for the second time in as many days. The Aces had a much better showing this time around scoring eight runs instead of being shut out. Kennesaw made it appear that things could get ugly quick again jumping to an 8-0 lead in the bottom of the third after scoring 4 runs a piece in both the second and third innings. Evansville responded quickly with five runs of their own in the top of the fourth. Haylee Tracy got things started with a single through the left side. Brooke Childress followed that with a two run home run cutting the lead to 8-2. Courtney Land came up and followed that with a home run of her own making the score 8-3. Chandra Parr was able to draw a walk, which was followed by an Ashlee Kawall single through the left side. Kawall and Parr were both able to score when Hayli Scott grabbed a single of her own making the score 8-5. Kennesaw State grabbed two more runs of their own in the bottom of the sixth to increase their lead to 10-5. In the top of the seventh Michal Luckett got things started with a single through the left side. After advancing to third, Luckett was able to score off a Brooke Childress single to center field. Courtney Land then walked putting runners at first and second. Parr came up and doubled scoring both Childress and Land making the score 10-8. The Aces could not get anything else going falling short 10-8.

Later in the day the Aces once again took on host Mercer. The Aces were able to grab a 6-4 victory over the Bears on Friday but were not so fortunate on Saturday. The Aces took a 7-1 loss this go around. The Bears got off to a quick start when they scored a run in the first inning and three in the second inning to get off to a quick 4-0 lead. Evansville was able to get on the board in the top of the third when Courtney Land scored off of a Hayli Scott single making the score 4-1. Unfortunately that was the Aces could get in regards to scoring for this game. Mercer was able to grab three more runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure their 7-1 victory
